My Scarf: When I got my scarf I first noticed the animals that make the letters on the scarf. Although there is a mixture I saw a lot of woodland creatures. This made me think of shooting in a woodland area or field. Also as the scarf is a very bright red, I felt shooting in a green surrounding would allow the colour to really standout and complement one and another. I also thought of having green styling to make the scarf the main focus of the images, and show that it is the main item in the images and film. I then started to create mood boards of my plans for the shoot. For my location I wanted a woodland area. In our fashion film last year we shot in the park in Rochester. It has a woodland area as you walk into the park, and then fields as you move further into the park. I thought this would be a good idea as I would have the option to use either very open spaces, or more enclosed areas for my shoot, thus giving me more to work with. As we had been there I knew exactly where to shoot, and that I was allowed there anytime or day. For the styling I wanted an autumnal feel to the shoot. I knew from the scarf that I wanted to work with greens and maybe browns for the styling. I choose to play with coats and oversized trousers. I wanted to layer the clothing and play with the scarf in different ways. As I had never used a scarf before I looked at different ways to use the scarf. I wanted to play with making into a top and layer that with the styling. But then use it as various neck scarfs and also play with it in the hair, and within the styling. For the hair and make up I wanted to keep it quite simple. With the hair I wanted it back off the face, and in a low bun. I felt having the hair down wouldn’t work with the scarf and styling. Then with the make up I wanted not a lot of face makeup. I wanted a dewy look to the skin, and a dark red lip. I also made some mood boards of shot inspiration. This is the overall vibe I’m going for and will help me with ideas on the shoot day. I wanted to create a styling shoot in the studio, before my actually shoot. So I created a mood board for ideas within the studio also.
